Who can use Earth Sourced?

Earth Sourced uses many plant-derived oils, is it only for dry skin?

Is Earth Sourced is for me? How does it compare to your other products?

Earth Sourced is ideal for most skin types, especially normal, sensitive, combination, and oily skin. It is specially formulated for those who prefer skin-care products made from proven natural ingredients, but that leave out the damaging fragrances and  irritants.  The Earth Sourced formulas are a bit more hydrating than our collections for oily to combination skin (Skin Balancing or Hydralight,) but slightly lighter than the normal to dry formulas from Moisture Boost Collection or RESIST.

Like all Paula’s Choice products, the formulas contain gentle ingredients proven to work based on published research and are 100% fragrance-free, so they’re great for sensitive skin.

I thought Paula didn’t like natural skin care?

Not at all!  We have never been “anti-natural ingredients,” or against natural skin care—but we have always said that cosmetic companies that claim “natural is best” or somehow better or safer than synthetics is marketing nonsense, as there is no research showing that natural ingredients are the best or are the only way to go for great skin care. 

We have always been against ingredients (both natural and synthetic) which are not beneficial to skin and/or those that pose risk of irritation and damage. Unfortunately, most natural brands use those types of problematic ingredients, or are poorly formulated, which is why we typically don’t speak highly of them. It’s always about what’s best for skin, whether the ingredients are natural, synthetic, or a blend of both.

Formulating products with ingredients proven to help skin is the norm for Paula’s Choice, whether it’s our RESIST products, Skin Balancing, CLEAR or Earth Sourced. If anything, Paula’s Choice Earth Sourced products go against the trend because we’re not making misleading claims that natural ingredients are superior, nor are we stating that Earth Sourced is better than any of our other products; it’s an option for those who are drawn to natural ingredients and want effective, gentle products.
